Judging

The closing date is Friday 1 March 2019. Results will be announced on or soon after the Friday 22 March 2019.
​
Submissions are judged on the following criteria – response to an environmental problem (40%), originality (30%), and execution (30%). The judging panel will choose across all of the categories the overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes, and potentially select a notable mention from each category.

Who is Eligible?
​
Students who previously applied for or took part in the Student Challenge program since January 2016, except family members of employees of the Owners or any official partners, supporters or sponsors of the Competition
How to Enter​

No fee is required for entry into this competition

Students do not need a Google account in order to submit their work

Submissions via email or physical mail are not permitted – any submissions sent this way, unless otherwise stated by a member of the Earthwatch Australia team, will not be considered

Entries must be the student’s original work. Any resources used for inspiration or research must be cited – Earthwatch reserves the right to disqualify an entry on the grounds of plagiarism

Only one entry per category per person; Where multiple entries have been made in the same category, only the first entry will be accepted

All entries must be in English or have an English translation in order to be considered

All entries need to be received by the closing date Friday 1 March 2019

By entering the Student Challenge National Competition, you acknowledge and agree to the competition’s full Terms and Conditions

All judging decisions are final and no correspondence discussing the judges’ decisions will be entered into

All winners will be notified by email before being publicly announced on the website

Winners may be asked to verify their eligibility by completing a liability and/or publicity release during the award claim process
